COMMON UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE TEST (CUET)
CUET (UG) Exam Syllabus
The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is the national-level gateway for admissions into top central and state universities.
Eligibility Criteria (Undergraduate)
Education: Candidates must have passed or be appearing for the Class 12th Board exams from a recognized board.
Age Limit: There is no upper age limit. (However, candidates must fulfill any age requirements specified by their desired participating university)
Minimum Marks: While the NTA does not specify minimum marks to sit for the exam, individual universities (like DU, BHU, or JNU) typically require 45% to 50% in Class 12th (often with relaxations for reserved categories).
CUET Exam Pattern
The exam is administered via a Computer-Based Test (CBT), featuring Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). It is divided into three core sections:
• Section IA & IB (Languages): 13 languages for IA and 20 for IB.
• Section II (Domain-Specific): 23 core subjects taught in Class 12th. (Candidates can select up to 5 subjects based on their university requirements)
• Section III (General Aptitude Test): Logical reasoning, Quantitative aptitude, General awareness, General knowledge and current affairs
Candidates can choose maximum 5 subjects. Also, 1 Language is compulsory.
Marking Scheme
Each paper includes 50 MCQs for 250 marks
Correct Answer: +5 marks
Incorrect Answer: -1 mark
Unanswered Questions: 0 mark
